Nature's Weather Predicters

Most Octobers you watch the leaves flit to the ground one by one. Carefully orchestrated by tiny cellos and violins. You can see the subtle differences in hues as they change into their warmer jackets. This year, however, it seems the trees have grown tired of waiting and have shook the leaves off all at once like a wet dog. Standing tall and naked in the icy wind. Wooly bear's auburn band seems a little on the small side and the crickets are congregating underfoot to lay their eggs. They sense the impending doom of winter on their short lives. The squirrels are still gathering and several chipmunks have been out and about as well. What will the winter bring us??
